WHY JOIN THE GUILDS OF THE SANTA FE OPERA?
Whether you have attended operas around the world or consider yourself an opera novice, becoming a guild member allows you to enhance your knowledge and appreciation of performance and theater arts. Guilds are located in Albuquerque, Española Valley, Los Alamos, Santa Fe, and Taos — and a National membership is available for supporters outside of those communities.
WHAT WE DO
The local guilds of the Santa Fe Opera offer educational and social events all year long at no or reduced cost to members. The programs held in guild cities offer opportunities to interact with art, music, and opera enthusiasts, knowledgeable opera professionals, and members of the Santa Fe Opera company. Within each member guild there are volunteer opportunities with educational programs, social events, communications, and technical support. Collectively, the Guilds of the Santa Fe Opera:
• |
Assist with Youth Nights at the opera |
• |
Host Preview Dinners at Dapples Pavilion on the opera campus |
• |
Host fundraising events, such as an Opening Night Dinner to begin the Santa Fe Opera Festival Season |
WHO WE SUPPORT
The funds raised by the member guilds provide support for the arts in local communities and around the state. Income generated by membership dues and guild events contributes to many activities of SFO’s Community Engagement Department, including:
• |
Free concerts and tours, engaging music lovers in our communities |
• |
Opera Makes Sense, revealing the world of music and theater to three to five-year-olds |
• |
Active Learning Through Opera, a collaborative venture among elementary and middle school teachers and teaching artists from the opera |
• |
High School Mastery Programs, featuring Young Voices and Young Technicians |
• |
Pueblo Opera Program, reaching more than 1,000 Native American children |
• |
Opera for All Voices, fostering new opera works throughout the country |
Memberships are available through the links below to first-time and renewing members in one of the five New Mexico opera guilds with chapters located in Albuquerque, Española Valley, Los Alamos, Santa Fe, and Taos. (Click on a guild name in the menu above to visit the guild page with details of guild activities).
The annual subscription period is determined by each member guild. Española Valley, Los Alamos, and Santa Fe use one year from the date of joining; Albuquerque and Taos use a fiscal year: October 1st to September 30th.

You can choose to pay by credit card, or mail a check.
You can choose any of our local chapters (Albuquerque, Española Valley, Los Alamos, Santa Fe, Taos) or a National Membership. The National Membership Category is designed for those who do not live full time in any of the areas served by the existing guilds, but who may visit New Mexico from time to time, live here part time, attend performances during the summer, and wish to keep in touch with the Opera’s year-round activities. National Members who are visiting Santa Fe during the summer opera season will have an opportunity to take part in a special event.
