Great Past Events!

* Annual Opera Education Lecture and Dinner
Members and friends of EVOG enjoyed an unforgettable evening celebrating Puccini's La Fanciulla del West.  Tom Franks, an extraordinarily entertaining speaker and local opera expert, was our guest lecturer. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Rancho de Chimayo and can't wait to see La Fanciulla del West during the 2016 Festival season!

* Our Annual Winter Posole Party
This year's party was held on Saturday, January 16th at Española's beautiful "Anthony's at the Delta" from 1 to 4pm. Guild members and guests were provided with a variety of different homemade posoles, enchiladas and desserts as well as special home-grown musical entertainment. "The Spirit Singers" of Pojoaque Valley Intermediate School performed for us; we welcomed them and their families. Tickets were $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12 and were purchased at the door. Raffle prizes featured the work of Northern New Mexico artists. This was a great way to shake off the winter blues.

* Annual Opera Tailgate Party
EVOG members and guests had great fun enjoying gourmet food and wine at our annual potluck tailgate which was held before the premiere of Cold Mountain this season.

* Our Annual Summer Program: Opera, Wine and Cheese

The Española Valley Opera Guild partners with Black Mesa Winery to present "Opera, Wine and Cheese" at the Misión on the Plaza.  This year Santa Fe Opera apprentice singer Megan Marino, mezzo, and Aaron Short, tenor, performed.

Española Valley Opera Guild hosted the winners of their 2015 youth essay contest at the Santa Fe Opera.  The students wrote essays entitled "Why I would like to attend the Santa Fe Opera" and ten winners were chosen. The winners and their families were given tickets to see "Daughter of the Regiment" and were treated to a dessert tailgate reception beforehand.

The pictured winners above (L to R) are: Eliseo Delgado, Brian Martinez, Keanu Gurule , Shondalee Perez, Myria King, Analyssa Gomez, Angelina Ortiz, Camryn Lucero and Amber Chavez.

* Preview Dinners and “Opera Insiders” Mornings each Summer
